Happy Father's Day!

Things I learned from Dad...
Dad and I danced to "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling."

You taught me that being Irish is a good thing
and something to be proud of.
You showed me that one cup of coffee before you start
your day helps get you started a lot easier!
You taught me that sometimes NOT saying something
is the best way to handle a situation.
You showed me how to get along with difficult people.
You taught me the value of a good joke.
You showed me how easy it was to start
your day with a good attitude.
You taught me that saving money is
just as important as earning money.
You showed me the pride in earning a living
for your family, no matter what the pay is.
You taught me that people gravitate toward people who smile!!

Nobody could have asked for a better Dad.
I only wish my kids and grandkids
had a chance to meet you in person.

To all you wonderfully involved fathers out there...
Have a fun-filled day!!
Happy Father's Day!

What great memories to share with us, Peggy!! I lost my Dad 14 years ago...the day after Father's Day. I think I'm going to go do a list just like this for my Dad!!!

Love this post, Peg. What a wonderful list ... I didn't know him, but I imagine (after reading this list) that you have a lot of him in you. And my dear, he'd be so proud of you, his daughter. So proud.

A really nice post.
I’ve enjoyed looking over your blog. I came across it through another blog I follow, and I’m glad I did. I am now a follower of yours as well. Feel free to look over my blog and perhaps become a follower as well.

Mom,
I love that picture of you and Grandpa. Wish I had known him, but I can tell a lot of him lives on in you (and therefore Jim and me, too).
xoxo

Wonderful thoughts and such a sweet photo! I see how you loved him as much in real life as in memory. By the way, happy belated birthday! I'm always days late and dollars short. I'm putting you in my birthday reminder book right now. Of course, it helps if I remember to look in it...
