Bucket Lists

I haven't seen the movie "The Bucket List" yet, but I'm intrigued by the idea of having a bucket list. Whether it's called bucket list, dreams & aspirations, or a to-do list (not to be confused with a "honey-do" list), it seems to me that everyone needs to have something to look forward to, plan for, dream about. Isn't that part of being human?
This blog is one of the items on my bucket list. I'm having so much fun with it (although I'd love to see more comments!!!!). I will admit I suffer from writer's block sometimes. That, to me, is weird. Anyone who knows me knows that I rarely suffer from a lack of opinion on things. So I probably need to explore some things that inspire me.
A friend asked me the other day what was next for me, creatively. At first, I didn't have an answer. Then I realized (after adding up all the conversations I'd had with people that week) that my next journey will be to learn to take better photos. I have two great digital cameras and I just don't seem to take the kind of pictures that WOW me. After speaking with an incredibly talented photographer within the family, I'm now inspired to spend more time at this. I shall keep you posted on my journey, usually by posting pics I think are worthy!!
So that's the next item on my bucket list. What's on yours?? (Photo taken in my garden-2008)

My bucket seems to get deeper and deeper but is still full to the brim. It takes more action and less "intention" to fulfill our dreams. Motivation is key and mine has been illusive. Reading about yours is a spur....I just wish the physical distance between us wasn't so great because I know what a great influence you would be if you could just get your hands around my neck!! Love you Cinderella!! Leslie

PK - First, the movie was worth a rental (not the best movie, but still entertaining and it does make you think about starting and working on a "bucket list". Second, I am SHOCKED that you get writer's block sometimes, but I do understand that. Third, I love the fact that you have a new creative challenge/goal, etc. But seriously, I think your photos are FABU! (Have you LOOKED at the photos of your garden from last year??? They are truly amazing!) I will look forward to seeing some of your new photos with your new creative focus (no pun intended!)

My bucket...
So that's not the same as a "to-do" list?
Hmmm....aspirations??? To be a good mom, teacher, wife, friend, etc. It's about relatioships. Everything else, I think would fall under my to-do list, sadly, Like clean the closet (I wouldn't call that a dream) or organize the laundry room (not something I aspire to). I do dream of running races and being competetive once I'm done with this whole baby-making business. I dream of continuing to go to Pearl Jam concerts and enjoying music. Nothing major, just staying true to who I am.

My Bucket Runneth Over!! Seriously, though, I find that I have a list longer than my arm of things I want to accomplish (these clearly are NOT my to-do list. That list is on the other arm!) But I'm fairly sure I overwhelm myself, therefore complete NOTHING. Ok, so my first goal - shorten my bucket list. Maybe start with ONE item, and complete that. So, I'm starting with Big Picture Scrapbooking. My creative side needs a project to complete, and my goal is to do so through bigpicturescrapbooking.com. That seems realistic. Ah, I feel better already. Thanks, PK, for getting me focused! LOVE the post!

This photo is most definitely worthy, Peggy. I lost myself in the enlarged view. That's one thing about my WordPress blog -- no chance of an enlarged view since there's a limit on the allowable file size. I'll look forward to more of your photography. It's interesting to be visiting your blog for the first time. I knew there was something special about you. You know, sometimes I think about things so long that I fail to express them. I exhaust myself and I'm often overwhelmed with the enormity of life's impressions. There's my writer's block.
